Contacts

Santa Barbara County Inmate Population is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, schedule visits, pull official booking records, or change court records. For those actions, contact the sheriff, jail, court, corrections department, or federal agency that controls the record.

Official Custody Contacts

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is the main local source for county jail custody. The jail information lines are the practical fallback when the online roster is unclear, a new arrest has not appeared yet, or a caller needs to know whether the person is at the south or north county jail.

  • For booking photos, use jail roster mugshots and the sheriff Records Bureau or CPRA process.
  • For charges filed after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest and the Santa Barbara Superior Court records offices.
  • For a specific jail, police holding area, or federal prison, use the facility pages listed in the footer.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation CIRIS locator.
